  1. When you say it won't "boot", do you mean it won't open? Is IE still working? You can try to reset Edge: https://www.groovypost.com/howto/reset-microsoft-edge-default-settings/ Let me know if that fixes it.
  2. Do you own Windows 10 or did you upgrade from a qualifying Windows license? You should just call Microsoft and ask them for support. They should/will help you if you have a valid copy.
  3. Yikes @Char1les First thing I would do is 1 - make sure you're fully patched with Windows 10 2 - delete and re-add the printer Try that and see if you're back in biz.
  4. Hi @Janner - The files sounds like they are stored in your OneDrive folder. That's why they are trying to sync up to OneDrive. Two things you can do. 1 - Just move the files outside of your OneDrive folder and this will stop them from trying to SYNC up to OneDrive. 2 - Uninstall OneDrive. Once that's done, you should be able to login to OneDrive and delete the files without having that action SYNC back down to your desktop. Let me know if you get this fixed! Thanks
  5. Sounds like a HW issue, not a software issue. How old is the laptop? You might try calling Toshiba and get HW support from them on this one.
  6. Well... the Enterprise key was from work? In that case, they probably used a KMS server with no KEY at all, so there is probably no key to recover as KMS activates the machine ever 90 days (I think). If they used a MAK key you might be able to recover it. Try following these steps: https://www.groovypost.com/howto/find-your-windows-10-product-key/
  7. Like I said, Crashplan or Backblaze are the best options. I personally like CP better. -S
  8. Hi Tom - Welcome to the forum! Now, if I were you I would just boot into safe mode and disable Cortana and disable the Network adapters. Here's an article on how-to boot into safe mode: https://www.groovypost.com/howto/boot-windows-10-safe-mode/ Hope this resolves your issue. If not, here's a few more ideas to repair it even further. https://www.groovypost.com/howto/repairing-a-broken-windows-10-installation/
  9. I would make sure our laptop is fully updated with the latest BIOS / FIRMWARE off the HP website. Could be, you need to update the motherboard and components to be compatible with Windows 10. Give that a shot and report back on status.
  10. Hi @cgoetze - Welcome to the forum. First question - which app are you using to "Zoom" the icons on the desktop? Looks like you're not using the out-of-the-box process. -S
  11. @GMSR what's the issue? Are you out of drive space and can't upgrade? You might want to take a look at a drive mapping app like this one: https://www.groovypost.com/howto/map-hardrive-usage-find-hidden-files-windows-10-treesize-freeware/ to find and nuke files you don't need/want. Should help you with space issues.

From there you can disable the various settings for getting Notified of new content.
  13. Heya @Ricky - Welcome to the site! Glad to have you on board!
  14. Hi @Kobe what error are you getting? Can you post a screenshot? Could be you are getting blocked from your router or DNS or some other network related issue/service.
  15. @lowellaby - Welcome to the site. Hope we can help ya find a solution. What type of computer do you have? Is this a new system or an older system? Has sleep ever worked? When did it stop working? You've checked everything I would with the exception of looking to update the Firmware on the system. If it's a DELL or HP or Lenovo etc... I would go to their website and look to see if a new version of the FIRMWARE is available. I've seen issues with a lot of systems that upgraded to Windows 10. Many need to update the main Firmware in order to be fully 100% compatible with Windows 10. Keep us updated.
  16. Unfortunately, unexplainable does happen from time-to-time. But honestly, if you think about it, considering the millions of upgrades performed with the millions of non-Microsoft apps and hardware and software... (blah), it's Amazing they support an upgrade to the OS at all. From time-to-time, issues will be encountered but, overall, they do a really good job.
  17. Hi @Windynose - Welcome to Windows10.help! Whare are you using the new External Hard Drive for? Are you getting error messages from files you are storing on that external drive? In regards to your original C drive, you don't want to mess with that. The purpose of the new External Drive is just to Augment your existing storage of your C drive. Start by assigning a drive letter to your new external drive. Personally, I recommend you give it a drive letter of P (for personal) or Z. This won't conflict with any of drives or USB drives etc.... Once you do that, now start by MOVING all the files you want to use to the new External drive letter. DO NOT move any apps. If you move apps, you will break them in most cases. If you want to run apps on your new drive, you need to uninstall them and reinstall them and select the new drive as the path for the app during install. Follow these steps with your External hard drive and you should be fine in the future.
  18. Just use the Search. Not apps will show up in the Start Menu however personally, I stopped using tap and click a long time ago. Just hit the WINDOWS KEY and start typing the app. Search for the win!
  19. @surfingcop If you have a DELL or a Lenovo, check to see if they have a native App to manage your Touchpad. Synaptics UltraNav sometimes is the driver / app used to manage touchpad on laptops. Which laptop do you have?
  20. That's great @Kevin Dts - thanks for passing on the update on this one. I'm sure it will help out a lot of ppl with the same issue.
  21. @Jakester So it sounds like it's a laptop. When you lost power, a number of issues could have resulted including damaging your Hard Drive, Motherboard, Power Supply, Video Card. So - when you hard reboot the laptop, what happens? Can you see video? Perhaps the Lenovo logo pop? Can you see the Windows Logo start to boot it?
  22. Hi @bromberg Vista.... That I cannot say. I've been a long long time... For windows 10, that's what I'm getting. But like I said, can't say what you might find on Vista.
