Told me my Windows 10 was up to date also. Up to date yes but not the Anniversary Update. That's when I typed in the metro search box. If what I suggested doesn't work, then burn an ISO. I didn't go the "Learn More" route so can't comment, sorry.

I guess I was lucky. I typed "Anniversary Update" in the Metro search box, another box popped up that said something like "Get Anniversary Update Now" I clicked on that and followed the prompts. Takes up to 90 mins to complete. I never burnt an ISO. A Techy I know stupidly stopped his computer during install and now won't boot nothing.Can't even get into Bios.

Hi @holdum333 Some say AVAST is causing issues. Turn off if you have it installed. Try disconnecting your WiFi or ethernet cable. Count to 40 and reconnect. What exactly have you tried and at what % does it stop?

I do have one question, @holdum333 I wonder has this program have the ability to prevent any P.U.P's hidden in updates?

I check for updates manually and regularly. If you recommend the program @holdum333 then it must be OK. Sure it would help some.

I always have backups,Gary. Always have done. There is already plenty to read on the Net about the Anniversary update from the major sites. A number of options are still there, but they no longer work. They have been patched so they don't work.

My Wife is the same,Gus. She loves her Windows7on her two computers. If I mention Windows10, her eyes go beady and she says "If you touch my computers with Windows10,your *&$%%^&& clothes will be on the front lawn". I like a happy Wife.

Hi Mandy. Recommend you turn off your AV while upgrading. Many reports on the Net of AV's causing problems.

I cannot remember when I have ever gave a link with crapware.

You can't compare what those with good eyesight see, compared to those with very bad eyesight see like myself. That's like comparing apples to oranges.

I dropped my resolution down from the recommended 1920X1080 and I can read the text much better.

I can't find an option either. Guess it's not possible. I found Gray text in the registry and couldn't change to Black.

I will have a play in the Registry, and see if I can change the font to black. Any luck, I will post back.

I would not advise what I do unless you are experienced, I agree. I also do not use an AV on this computer, running Windows7 SP1. I don't visit Porn sites ever,as food is more important at my age. I run on demand scans regular and use Windows inbuilt tools. All my other PC'S all run AV's and all updates installed. I did check for updates on this rig for interest, and including Office updates over 2 GIGs of updates waiting.OMG. I have noticed that immediately all updates are installed my Computers slow down somewhat. Not a lot but can notice the difference immediately.

You can worry to much about updates. I have a total of six essential updates installed on this PC. Turned them off ten months ago after clean install.. Still waiting for armageddon and it's not happening. So bored running scans all the time and finding nothing.

"Unchecky" is excellent.I have it installed on all my PC's Thanks for recommending "unchecky" Gary.

It means to check every step of install in case unwanted programs are offered.

Thanks @allheart55 (Cindy E) for explaining about Wise program uninstaller. @ShockerSH The moment you boot your Computer, your privacy goes out the window. Your IP Providor's Servers record your every key stroke. As Cindy said there are no adds anywhere. I only recommend software that I have tested over a long period of time.
