  1. Hi! @JulsieL Doesn't the windows logo key + C work for you. That's how I wake Cortana up! Perhaps this will help - http://windows10forum.com/topic/361-cortana-deaf/ Also - Sorry for not understanding your issue. Have you checked all the setting in Cortana? I have created a zip file that shows how to access the settings in Cortana. Hope this helps
  2. Hi! @Steve I too am interested in what are the plans for the old forum as @ShockerSH Asked and commented on. It is very dusty Cool! What are your plans for this forum??
  3. Thanks to you @Profiler and Cindy for joining windows10forum.com. I know that you both will be a great asset to the forum
  4. Hi! How do you explain @ShockerSHs screen shot??Ad-Supported Also I'm interested in what that means! I too am very cautious about my down loads. The freeware programs have become corrupted with PUPs and who knows what else they are installing on us!
  5. Hi! Don't want to cause confusion on this thread, but here's what my updates look like!
  6. Hi! @ShockerSH I'm not Steve, but have you subscribed to the news letter??
  7. Hey @ShockerSH If you're running W10 and surfing the web you are being tracked. Do you do Facebook?
  8. Hi @JulsieL I too would like to welcome you to the forum. I have a similar problem. Try holding down the windows logo key and click the C key. That usually resets Cortana. She can be a little stubborn at times. I have heard there is a big Cortana improvement in the anniversary addition!
  9. Wow! I'm impressed @allheart55 (Cindy E). This looks like a fun thread. I just have a laptop and a printer.I live in a small retirement cottage so I won't bore you with my work place!
  10. Hey Boss I don't have a problem being nuked LOL. I don't know about fixing updates applied multiple times. First time I have seen that. The reliability monitor records updates each time they are installed. I just recommend that link to people having problems with W10 updates. This is what Shawn says about it, so thought I would suggest it to the OP! Thanks for your explanation. I ran it one time and it fixed a problem for me! Don't think it would hurt any thing to run it, but as you say probably better not to mess with the dups updates Sometimes you may have an issue with Windows Update such as not being able to download or install updates, error messages, not being able to search for new updates, etc. These kind of issues can occur when the Windows Update database or components are corrupted, one or more services related to Windows Update are not running, etc. Resetting the Windows Update components and history can usually solve these types of issues. Curious to know what the OPs reliability monitor looks like. PS A cool thing about the reliability monitor, is it explains a little about the updates. IMHO it's a great tool that very few users are aware of or use. I hope this post doesn't cause gus a problem or confuse the issue.
  11. Hi @Judy Just wondering if you still need help with your issue?? There are other things we can try or suggest! I'm hoping you were able to complete the W10 upgrade!
  12. Yup! CNET shot them selves in the foot for a few bucks. That's really sad, but I'm afraid more will follow in the future! Bleeping Computers asking for money for law suit. What is all that BS about?? http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/604046/we-need-your-help-bleepingcomputer-is-being-sued-by-the-creators-of-spyhunter/ Nice read from grooypost.com @Steve We need to tie groovy in with this forum some way!
  13. Hi There! Has anyone noticed the Blogs section. @Steve has recently added this to the forum. There's going to be some good stuff there. There's already one good Blog by @adacosta Check it out! http://windows10forum.com/blogs/
  14. How hard is it to change your default browser?? My default is Firefox, just like it has always been. MS tested W10 for a long time before releasing the upgrade to the public. They are still testing! Sure there are some minor problems and I'm sure there will be more problems next month when MS releases the anniversary update. Shouldn't be any thing a good tech can't fix LMAO Yes everyone here knows how you feel about W10. You post it on every reply
  15. Thanks for the update. You are very welcome. I'm happy that you were able to solve your issue. You all come back and see usI'm a old Southern country boy
  16. If Windows can’t find a new driver for your network adapter, visit the PC manufacturer’s website and download the latest network adapter driver from there. If your PC can't connect to the Internet, you'll need to download a driver on a different PC and save it to a USB flash drive so you can install the driver on your PC. You’ll need to know the PC manufacturer and model name or number.
  17. Hi Please post make and model! Did you go to your manufacture and check for drivers? How did you check the driver. If you checked with devise manager, it will only give you windows up dates for drivers which may not be the latest updated driver for your PC
  18. Hi! Go to your PC manufacture and see if they have a Wi-Fi Adapter driver update for W10! https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/10741/windows-10-fix-network-connection-issues Thanks for helping Profiler!
  19. Hi Welcome to the forum! Have you tried the trouble shooter in W10? Give this groovypost tutorial a look and see if any thing there works. You may receive other replies from other forum members latter! groovypost is the sister forum to this one. http://www.groovypost.com/howto/connect-netowrks-windows-10/
  20. I haven't used REVO for a long time, but I don't remember REVO not removing a program. The Force uninstall is great @Profiler. I have used it a couple of times. Here's a great link in case you missed it Profiler! http://www.groovypost.com/howto/windows-completely-uninstall-software/
  21. Hi! I'm thinking maybe they might register on a help forum like this one or the sister forum and post issues they are having with W10. Is W10 perfect? No! Do some users have problems up grading? Yes. Is it MS fault some times? Yes. Is it the users fault some times? Yes If you have a issue, please post it on the forum and maybe someone here will have a suggestion for you.
  22. You didn't have to boot into "Metro" No I never ran Windows 8, but I have worked on W8 here in my village. I will not reply further to your reply. Once again you have managed to hi-jack a thread and brag about you accomplishments and your repair business!
