  1. Hello, those two virtual printer drivers wern't put there by the anniversary update. the xps driver has been around since Vista, seeHERE The pdf driver was included with win 10 from release HERE
  2. could be some facebook and such activity links too
  3. Sorry, but I didn't realize how old this thread was, prolly a bit late now? BTW Just a small point, but the instructions for Unlocker DO tell the user to close ALL running programs before using Unlocker. This can minimize the chance of damage to a running application.FWIW
  4. Hello Ray_UK, if you are sure the file in question is not a necessary system file and you really want to rid your pc of it, make a live linux cd or flash drive, say zorin or puppy, boot to the Linux os, navigate to the file and just nuke it. That will not fail PS: unlocker is not rubbish, just not invincible.
  5. Are you sure you used this link to download it? http://www.easeus-down.com/temp/EPM_10.8_trial.exe because your file name is also different to mine
  6. Did you use the download link at groovypost? And did you copy and paste the serial? Mine worked ok
  7. Thank you for the heads up, this has always been great software
  8. Possibly highjacking the thread here but there are many free and portable file syncing applications along with many commercial ones to choose. Here's a link to free and portable ones that might be handy? I mentioned FreeFileSync as it it one of the simplest free apps of its type, just use Unchecky or look out for "Extras" when installing it. http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?sc=137 http://www.ghacks.net/2015/03/17/whats-the-best-free-file-synchronization-software-for-windows/
  9. Sorry to be late here, but as long as you have one good copy of your Folder/files why not use a Sync program, perhaps FreeFileSync, which will make a perfect copy to or from whichever locations you wish, then you can maintain the exact copy as you change the original . Syncing is somewhat similar to backing up for whatever files/folders you wish.
  10. Got to agree, Windows 10 is great and cant see what all the agro is about with it. Yes the pre release version was a bit of a let down, but the final product is excellent. As per ShockerSH, Ive got a laptop with 8.1 and that also is quite nice and solid. Should have gone the update path with it too but missed the free boat because I am slack. My wife wouldn't let me clean install 10 on her perfectly capable Windows 7 desktop citing her lack of patience getting used to 7 after using XP, you know happy wife happy life.
  11. First of all I never implied or said a malware school did not recommend installing updates. Secondly I did not recommend that Windows 10, or any other users do not install updates. Simply gave my opinion as to the way I choose to maintain my computer. And thanks again to those that responded to my question.
  12. Yes we do, and I do suggest that some users may live in false hopes and ideas that having your os system files constantly updated will prevent the pc from becoming infected. Sure in some circumstances updates can contribute to system security, and most in the scheme of things probably do. My time at Malware school to date has demonstrated to me that users habits, along with inappropriate software, and inadequate security software would be the main contributors to becoming infected with malware, and not because of a missing windows update. Windows updates will remain disabled on my machines until either a service pack is released, or a feature of the operating system is lacking operational serviceability.
  13. Thank you Steve, and Profiler for your informed responses. I too have disabled Windows 10 updates and until something breaks won't be re enabling them. I only chose to update because of the new fresh install of 10, and Office. About 80 updates to Office is more than enough for me. I'll leave the mess alone and not allow Micro$oft to make it any worse.
  14. Hi Steve, and thanks for responding. No I just noticed they were listed in the add remove section when I was snooping around. There also has been no warnings or prompts about any updates. I considered uninstalling them and let update do its thing again but thought it prudent to ask first.
  15. Hi, I'm new so you have to be nice Just did a clean install of 10 to upgrade an old Win 7 PC. I have installed office 2010 and allowed Windows to update both the O/S and Office. What Ive noticed among the 89 Office updates is duplications of some. KB2553347 has been duplicated 17 times and some others several times. I have manually run an update check with the view that they perhaps did not complete, but with similar results. Can I clean this mess up or is it part of the new generation Windows? Oh, and thanks for looking..
