  1. Hi, a few questions: What version of Outlook are you running? Is this a work or home install of outlook? What is your email account? Gmail? Office 365? or? What other details can you give us?
  2. Have you solved yet? Going to ask all the basic's -- However updated Firmware on your Motherboard and Video Card?
  3. Windows 10 N editions are specially destined for the EU, Switzerland, and South Korea (KN for South Korea). N stands for not with Media Player. This is required by EU law -- provide a version of windows without the media player and a few other tools....
  4. All is good! I'm going to guess you were right @patty1955 . I think the servers were just overtaxed and not able to fulfill my download. All good!
  5. After installing Windows 10, I went into the Windows 10 Store and clicked - Check for Updates. All apps that were pre-installed updated as normal (MSN Weather for example) however when I try to install new apps, they die during the status message - Acquiring License. I've tried the handy wsreset.exe command however it's not helping me. Anyone else running into this issue? Are you able to install new apps in the MS Store?
  6. I have a Surface running Windows 8.1 that I'm upgrading now. So far so good, I kicked off the upgrade using the Upgrade tool for x64 - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=616936 Since I didn't have any pre-load folders that Brian mentioned, first it downloaded Win 10 then ran Windows Update to pull down any delta change I'm guessing for my particular install. It then gave me options to keep Personal Files and Apps, Personal Files Only or Nothing. I'm going to choose nothing so I can start fresh. That's where I'm at now. All in all, I'm about 10 minutes into the install and it's grinding away.
  7. Probably not. The best option will probably be to take the full install and then when that's completed, perform a system reset. That should get you back to a clean install of Windows 10. Another option AFTER you take the upgrade will be to create a recovery drive and then rebuild from that.
  8. yeah that's my guess. I'm not going to worry about it until Wednesday.
  9. Negative... never heard of them actually. Unfortunately, I think it's going to be hard to find a quality replacement over Money. Here's a few options I've seen out there: GnuCash - http://www.gnucash.org/ - These guys look pretty quality. It looks like it's regularly updated and has a nice feature set. I've not used them however, could be interesting. It also supports OFX so you should be able to get updates from your bank on this one also.... Looks solid. Mint -- Yeah no.... -- I would steer clear of Mint. You know what they say... if it's free, YOU are the product. Although Mint claims they pull your data anonymous, the Terms of Service give me the shivers... https://www.youneedabudget.com/ - I've heard goo things about these guys, however, it's not free. Looks like it's $60 for a perpetual license. Unlike Quick which will only pull bank updates for two years, these guys at least, appear to lock you in. That is until Version 5 comes up (If I'm reading this right). https://www.budgetsimple.com/ - These guys have both a free and paid option. I've not yet read the EULA so be careful with that.... Looks to have a nice interface however with strong features. Probably closer to YouNeedaBudget than #1.

    Xbox One Controller

Your controller won't work on the PC?
  11. Now if only I could get it installed on my box. I'm having issues getting the latest builds and updates on my Surface 3. Trying to standard restarts and reboots.
  12. Looks like this question has already been answered in this thread: This should get you fixed up. -S
  13. @tanmaya23 I'm running into the same issue on most of my Windows 10 clients. Feels a bit like Microsoft is slowing down updates in prep for the big launch.... Anyone else having problems updating?
  14. Has it ever worked? You need to make sure you setup the VMWare client so that the Guest system is allowed to see the network. Same goes for other drives.
  15. LOL great question @Paulhogan - Won't be fair if you get it before we do!! My guess.... is it will be released on Pacific time, Redmond Campus to be exact. Then again, that's just my guess.
  16. Hi @Julsie - Just answered this question ya had over at - http://windows10forum.com/discussion/321/windows-10-activation-activation I think that applies to your Windows 10 Activation question however. As I mentioned, Per the MS blog post, you can keep your VM in Insider mode and keep getting updates. Otherwise, you will need to get a license for it unless the VM was an upgrade from a valid Windows 7 or 8 license. http://blogs.windows.com/bloggingwindows/2015/06/19/upcoming-changes-to-windows-10-insider-preview-builds/
  17. Hi @Julsie - if I'm reading the blog post correct: http://blogs.windows.com/bloggingwindows/2015/06/19/upcoming-changes-to-windows-10-insider-preview-builds/ The way I understand it, Insiders will have an option to continue as an "Insider" and continue to get new builds from Microsoft as they are released. If you don't want to remain an insider and get new builds regularly per the program, you will need to opt out and receive the final 7/29 build. If the install was an upgrade from Windows 7 or 8, you will be golden. If however it was a fresh install of 10 or Vista or XP, you will not be eligible for a free upgrade so you will need to downgrade or buy a Windows 10 license. Hopefully my analysis of this blog post is accurate.
  18. @bBurgess I'm waiting for the prices to drop a bit but I'll soon be picking one up. One of my main issues however is how it interacts with my FIOS provided cable DVR. The whole TV Integration won't work with it yet. At least it didn't last I checked about.... 6 months ago.
  19. My guess is it will somehow be worked into the overall O365 side of things w/Office. Bundle it somehow after that first year.
  20. Which machine do you have? Older or newer? Could be they don't have a vid driver for it yet in the beta...?
  21. It needs to continue to focus on the "Modern" apps it supports and get people back into them. I think a lot of people were OK with iOS apps not being as robust because they were all Touch based. With Windows however, I think people expect more which might be why they have had such as hard time with "Modern" apps...
  22. Anyone out there try the new OneDrive for Business for Mac? I'm using it on my MBAir running Yosemite. Overall, appears to be working fine however it's not able to complete a full Sync. I have about 22Gigs on my OneDrive for Biz account and it's just hanging on the last 2.8Gigs. Anyone else run into this?
  23. I think it's safe to say that Windows 10 will have several versions just like Windows 7 and Windows 8. Enterprise Edition will probably be for the corporation and it will probably have a Windows Pro and/or Windows 10 standard edition. This has been the trend with Microsoft for the past 10 years? Can't see that changing anytime soon. That said, there will also be a subscription model so we will have to wait and see what that means exactly.
  24. At work I listen to Music quite a bit. Today I'm using Apple Ear Buds and it's just not cutting it. Would like to get quality headphones to both block out the noise and sound great. Anyone have a pair they love? Would like to spend under $100 and prefearably do Bluetooth if possible. Thoughts?
  25. @khalstenberg‌ if it's been a few hours..... I'm going to guess something went wrong. Might bounce the box and see if it comes back...
