WINWORD.EXE application error: Oxc0000142

having done downloads with Chrome, Mozilla , Adobe flash player, and McAlfie Scan Plus.  Today I cannot open my Microsoft Office (home trial with new bought HP notebook) Word document...any expert knows this problem called application error: Oxc0000142  WINWORD.EXE unable to start correctly

My suggestion is to just do a quick repair of Office. It should fix your issues in most cases.

Control Panel > Programs and Features > Select Office App > Change > Quick Repair (See Below)

If that doesn't work, try an Online Repair.
