Deleting a local account?

I inadvertently added a local account for myself. I am the only one who uses the laptop with Windows 10. Can I delete it? I would prefer to just have my Microsoft account.

Yup. You should be fine if you delete it. Just log in with your Microsoft account and go to Settings > Accounts > Family & other users > Other users select the local account you made and then click the Remove button.

Thank you for the information. I did exactly as you said but I never saw that screen. I only had the screen that said add a family member or other user. I wonder if because it is my name & I added a local account for myself (by mistake) I am now stuck with it. I guess I should have asked what the purpose of a local account for myself would be. As you can tell I am definitely not a savvy tech person. So I am still stuck with that local account.
