I do have one question, @holdum333
I wonder has this program have the ability to prevent any P.U.P's hidden in updates?
-
I check for updates manually and regularly.
If you recommend the program @holdum333 then it must be OK.
Sure it would help some.

Hey! @Profiler Thanks for your post. Knowing you, I'm sure you created a back image before installing the anniversary update.
Are you going to stay with the Anniversary update or roll back. Can you tell us a little more about less options to set!
What do you think MS is up to with this anniversary update??
I always have backups,Gary. Always have done.
There is already plenty to read on the Net about the Anniversary update from the major sites.
A number of options are still there, but they no longer work. They have been patched so they don't work.

Got to agree, Windows 10 is great and cant see what all the agro is about with it. Yes the pre release version was a bit of a let down, but the final product is excellent. As per ShockerSH, Ive got a laptop with 8.1 and that also is quite nice and solid. Should have gone the update path with it too but missed the free boat because I am slack. My wife wouldn't let me clean install 10 on her perfectly capable Windows 7 desktop citing her lack of patience getting used to 7 after using XP, you know happy wife happy life.
My Wife is the same,Gus. She loves her Windows7on her two computers.
If I mention Windows10, her eyes go beady and she says "If you touch my computers with Windows10,your *&$%%^&& clothes will be on the front lawn".
I like a happy Wife.

"a person who unthinkingly joins a mass movement, especially a headlong rush to destruction".
I was stirring the pot.
Microsoft is tightening the "Choker Hold" without the masses realizing.
I installed an Anniversary ISO and now user even have less options to set the OS how they want it.

Hi Mandy.
Recommend you turn off your AV while upgrading.
Many reports on the Net of AV's causing problems.

Hi @Profiler The other suggestions in your link are good. I have made the same mistake you did when referring links.
No harm done! Thanks for helping! Team work is a good thing!
I cannot remember when I have ever gave a link with crapware.

My apology Mandy, for not mentioning that Smart PC Fixer is crapware.

You can't compare what those with good eyesight see, compared to those with very bad eyesight see like myself.
That's like comparing apples to oranges.

I dropped my resolution down from the recommended 1920X1080 and I can read the text much better.
-
I can't find an option either. Guess it's not possible.
I found Gray text in the registry and couldn't change to Black.
-
I will have a play in the Registry, and see if I can change the font to black.
Any luck, I will post back.

All looking good to me,Steve.
Like your choice of Forum software.
Simple and uncluttered.
Kudos.

I would not advise what I do unless you are experienced, I agree.
I also do not use an AV on this computer, running Windows7 SP1.
I don't visit Porn sites ever,as food is more important at my age.
I run on demand scans regular and use Windows inbuilt tools.
All my other PC'S all run AV's and all updates installed.
I did check for updates on this rig for interest, and including Office updates over 2 GIGs of updates waiting.OMG.
I have noticed that immediately all updates are installed my Computers slow down somewhat.
Not a lot but can notice the difference immediately.
-
You can worry to much about updates. I have a total of six essential updates installed on this PC.
Turned them off ten months ago after clean install.. Still waiting for armageddon and it's not happening.
So bored running scans all the time and finding nothing.

Impressive Work Stations.
Thanks for posting the images.

Hi! How do you explain @ShockerSHs screen shot??Ad-Supported
Also I'm interested in what that means! I too am very cautious about my down loads. The freeware programs have become corrupted with PUPs and who knows what else they are installing on us!
It means to check every step of install in case unwanted programs are offered.
-
Thanks @allheart55 (Cindy E) for explaining about Wise program uninstaller.
@ShockerSH The moment you boot your Computer, your privacy goes out the window.
Your IP Providor's Servers record your every key stroke.
As Cindy said there are no adds anywhere.
I only recommend software that I have tested over a long period of time.

Hi @holdum333
Some say AVAST is causing issues. Turn off if you have it installed.
Try disconnecting your WiFi or ethernet cable. Count to 40 and reconnect.
What exactly have you tried and at what % does it stop?
