  1. Over the last few years I've been a loyal Crashplan customer. It does the job. The client can be a bit think (Java based I think) but other than that, it gets the job done.

Anyone out there have any experience with Backblaze? Other that reading their quarterly HD reports (Latest), I've never played around with the service.

Anyone have any feedback? Experience with them vs. Crashplan?

    Thnx!

My Hitachi is going on its  5th year and it's looking good. I seldom shut my PC down. i don't use sleep or hibernate. it's either on off off and very seldom off. You will get all kinds of theory about this. i figure if you get 5 years from a hard drive, you're doing good. I realize it could go bad any time, but right now it's doing good.

Which drive is it? SSD or Standard drive? I'm starting to really like the Hybrid Drives (SSD+HD).

I just love this report that Backblaze runs each quarter - https://www.backblaze.com/blog/hard-drive-reliability-stats-q1-2016/

Normally I always consult their articles and won't buy a drive anymore without reading the latest report from them. Something to keep in mind @holdum333

Hi I'm holdum333! I new to your forum. While searching on the web, I found a answer to a issue I was having, on groovy post. There was a link to this forum (Windows 10), so I joined here also! I'm now going back and forth trying to learn how both forums work. Please bare with me until I get every thing sorted out. I think I'll get the hang of it.

Have you ever thought about merging?? LOL

Now I'm on both help forums.  I know a little about W10 and hope I can learn more on these forums and maybe even help a little.

Heya Holdum! Welcome to groovypost. Holdum? So, are you a poker guy? :)

PS...wouldn't you know it! I have looked for several hours and right after posting this question I have FOUND my computer name, right where I have looked several times but didn't click on the tab in system properties. Thank you to anyone who have viewed this and hope they read this reply so I don't waste anyone's time.

Hey there @Gramme71 - Looks like you answered your own question! That said, here's a few tips which I found quickly on gpost.

Here's a quick way to find your computer name (and rename it for that matter) - http://www.groovypost.com/howto/rename-windows-10-computer/

Another option is to get into a Command Line (Windows Key + R, Type CMD). From there type:

    net user

This will also display your machine name.

    Hope that helps!

  5. Don't give up. My guess is your HW isn't supporting Windows 10 fully. You should try to go to your Manufacturers website and try to update the laptop BIOS. Many times this will solve your issue(s) related to power settings and overall Windows 10 compatibility.

What's the Make and model BTW? Perhaps others are having the same issue.

  6. By the way, if you're reading this on Tuesday, check out our article on Microsoft rolling out the Windows 10 bits to reserved PCs and how to find if you have it:

    http://www.groovypost.com/news/windows-10-preloading-today-reserved-pc-check-for-bits/

Yeah my box has the bits if that's what's going on. That's pretty smart if you think about it. Rather than have a huge rush on the bits for Windows 10, they have been pushing it out to the globe over the last month.

You think that's what they are doing?
