TBH, I have never seen any advertisements and I don't see where it says that anywhere.

No idea. This is what I saw and it made me think huh (see below)

Hey @ShockerSH If you're running W10 and surfing the web you are being tracked. Do you do Facebook?xD

No, I don't use facebook. And yeah, I know I'm being tracked, that's not the point. I know who Microsoft is, and Google. I have no idea who WiseCleaner is. I'll take a look at it. Just a good reminder (and hot button for @Steve over the years) so I'm trained now to always read the EULA. And no, I don't run around with tin foil on my head hehehe but I have been reading @Steve blog for years and years so he's got me all paranoid now about this kind of thing. O.o

Microsoft says my system is compatible and can therefore download Windows 10.   I am running a 64 bit laptop - did as instructed - turned off my anti-virus and still it gave me the message - turn off your anti-virus and below that Error Ox80070005.

    Anyone any ideas?

Flash your laptop with all the latest updates - Firmware/Bios/Etc... I had to do that with my Lenovo before it would install without issues. It also fixed a bunch of USB Displayport issues.

  3. Hi @JulsieL - Welcome to the forum. Great question for your first post here ;)

Regarding your question -- Have you confirmed that you've given Cortana Access to your location data?

How To Enable Cortana Access to your Location Settings:

Click Settings > Privacy > Location > Location ON > Cortana ON

    cortana location.jpg

    Hope that helps ya?

  4. You guys probably saw the news a few months back -- Google has dropped the entire Picasa product line https://picasa.google.com/ - If you hit the site they tell you "sorry dude, no dice. You need to use Google Photos".

Well, the issue with Google Photos is I want the images on my main box and don't want to upload them into the Google cloud.

So -- Does anyone have a good list of alternatives to Picasa I can test out on a Windows box or a Mac? I would prefer to stick with Windows for all my photography (I know, that sounds odd) but, If I need to flip to my Mac for my photo archive, I guess I can do that...

oh - and although I would like to stay with Freeware, if I have to spend under $100, I guess I'm OK with that also.

    Thoughts?

  5. Sweet.

Not sure why people are always complaining about Windows 10. I'm sure this anniversary update will be a nice update . However, it's been working great for me ever since the preview days.

Honestly, is there going to be anything groundbreaking with the update? Any new features that are going to give it an edge over Apple or even the previous version? Would love to get a breakdown of what's coming that I should get excited about @Brian :):)
