Hiya Joyce, what exactly do you want to change the colors on? I've got some time this afternoon, I should be able to upload a few screenshots to add to @holdum333's posts.

Like your choice of Forum software
Agreed. I'm active on several PHPBB and VBulletin boards. Love this software @Steve. Really feels feature rich and almost fun to use. Nice choice!
Regarding the change you made, I tested it out. Works well enough.

Hi @James George - yes, you will be able to go directly from Windows 8.1. Personally, I would use the ISO method... Anyway - Just read a great blog post from Andre with details on getting upgraded.

Glad to see he spun up a new forum here.
@Steve what is your plan with the old forum? Become a little dusty...

TBH, I have never seen any advertisements and I don't see where it says that anywhere.
No idea. This is what I saw and it made me think huh (see below)
Never used it personally so wanted to check it out.

No, I don't use facebook. And yeah, I know I'm being tracked, that's not the point. I know who Microsoft is, and Google. I have no idea who WiseCleaner is. I'll take a look at it. Just a good reminder (and hot button for @Steve over the years) so I'm trained now to always read the EULA. And no, I don't run around with tin foil on my head hehehe but I have been reading @Steve blog for years and years so he's got me all paranoid now about this kind of thing.

Microsoft says my system is compatible and can therefore download Windows 10. I am running a 64 bit laptop - did as instructed - turned off my anti-virus and still it gave me the message - turn off your anti-virus and below that Error Ox80070005.
Anyone any ideas?
Judy
Flash your laptop with all the latest updates - Firmware/Bios/Etc... I had to do that with my Lenovo before it would install without issues. It also fixed a bunch of USB Displayport issues.

So I'm not breaking any records however, not bad I guess.... This is my download speed from fast.com. I don't use speedtest.net anymore cause I really don't care about upload speed. The only time I upload something is.... um... yeah exactly.
BTW - I'm located in Cali, San Fran.

When you finish trying all the rest, try the best by far. "Wise Program Uninstaller"
@Profiler Looks like the tool is freeware but "Ad Supported". How does that look? Where are the ads inserted? Are they tracking me like google. I just hate free stuff that really isn't..... free....

I wouldn't mess with it
neither would I. if it aint broken.....
Granted, you could try to rip it out with REVO or something else but, you will probably just break something else.

Wow dude - that's impressive. All clean and tidy. Like a command center! LOL
I'm NOT going to post my command center. Um... it's under renovation

Hi @JulsieL - Welcome to the forum. Great question for your first post here
Regarding your question -- Have you confirmed that you've given Cortana Access to your location data?
How To Enable Cortana Access to your Location Settings:
Click Settings > Privacy > Location > Location ON > Cortana ON
Hope that helps ya?

You guys probably saw the news a few months back -- Google has dropped the entire Picasa product line https://picasa.google.com/ - If you hit the site they tell you "sorry dude, no dice. You need to use Google Photos".
Well, the issue with Google Photos is I want the images on my main box and don't want to upload them into the Google cloud.
So -- Does anyone have a good list of alternatives to Picasa I can test out on a Windows box or a Mac? I would prefer to stick with Windows for all my photography (I know, that sounds odd) but, If I need to flip to my Mac for my photo archive, I guess I can do that...
oh - and although I would like to stay with Freeware, if I have to spend under $100, I guess I'm OK with that also.
Thoughts?

Sweet.
Not sure why people are always complaining about Windows 10. I'm sure this anniversary update will be a nice update . However, it's been working great for me ever since the preview days.
Honestly, is there going to be anything groundbreaking with the update? Any new features that are going to give it an edge over Apple or even the previous version? Would love to get a breakdown of what's coming that I should get excited about @Brian

YIKES!
Where did you get that? Ransomware scares the crap out of me. I'm running just Win Defender + Malwarebytes.... so far so good...

Make sure your new Windows 10 box is setup to allow RDP to the box. Also make sure its firewall allows RDP access. If yes to all, try hitting it by the IP address to see if it's not a DNS issue.

Bingo @holdum333 - You should be golden. Anything more than that is just bloatware.
And yes - Safe surfing is a must

I thought of installing McAfee LiveSafe 2016
don't do it. McAfee and Norton Symantec products are just crap these days. Don't waste the cash. Just use the basic built-in Windows 10 AV and combine it with Malwarebytes. You will be just fine.
