Windows 10 wants to boot from my external WD drive

I have a WD external USB drive used for backup.  Every night at ~2:00AM it runs its backup.  This is good.  In the morning the machine is shut down and I cannot reboot until I physically disconnect the USB drive.  I have looked at the boot sequence and it makes sense 'C' drive first and then fall back to other drives but it seems to want to boot from my external 'F' drive.  Any suggestions other than removing my USB drive every morning?

I have searched for this issue on this forum and others but have not found the solution yet.
