Not enough disk space to download windows upgrade 16299

Recommended Posts

Apologies if this has been discussed before, but I have an Asus PC with 32 gig of harddrive. Windows 10 and essential software take up all but 2gig. (I have delted as much as I can from the drive).  When I try to update to latest version of windows i get the message that I need 8gig more. I have a 1tb external harddrive attached but I get no option to download the new system to the external drive and update from there. Has anyone know any work around  for this. As I said at the beginning if this has been discussed before my apologies and please let me know. Thanks for any help.
