How do I disable Version history? An insane amount of space is being taken up by this feature and I cannot disable it

I have used probably about 300GB of data on my 1TB of university-provided OneDrive. I am beingΒ  told it is full. I just found out this is because of the VersionHistory feature, which I do manually. It's better.

Tell me how to turn the VersionHistory feature off, please and thank you 😌😌😌😌

To disable version history in OneDrive, follow these steps:

Go to OneDrive on the web and sign in to your account.
Navigate to the folder or file for which you want to disable version history.
Right-click on the file or folder and select "Version history" from the context menu.
In the version history pane, click on the gear icon in the upper right corner and select "Settings" from the drop-down menu.
In the Settings dialog box, under "Version history," select "Off" to disable version history.
Click "Save" to save your changes.
Please note that disabling version history will delete all previous versions of the file or folder, and you won't be able to restore any previous versions. So, be sure to download a copy of any important versions before disabling version history.

Regards,
