I have a blank screen

Hello,

I have a Dell Windows 10 computer. My computer boots up normally. But the desktop pops up briefly, then disappears. Then a blank screen pops up, and won't go away. The only thing on the screen is the arrow, the taskbar is not on the screen.
Is there a way that I can fix this?

Thank you

In some cases, a black screen happens because that Windows 10 will lose its connection with the display.

Using the Windows key + Ctrl + Shift + B keyboard shortcut can restart the video driver and refresh the connection with the monitor. If you’re in tablet mode, press the volume-up and volume-down buttons simultaneously three times within two seconds. Assuming Windows is responsive, a short beep will sound and the screen will blink or dim while Windows endeavors to refresh the screen.

Another way to restart Windows. For that-

If you don’t see Task Manager after selecting Ctrl + Alt + Delete, select Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.

Under the Processes tab, search for Windows Explorer. Right-click Windows Explorer, then select Restart.

If that didn’t work, select File in the top-left corner of Task Manager and select Run new task. Type explorer.exe, then select OK.

You can also try to Roll back the display adapter driver.

If you experience a black or blank screen on your Windows device, try the following:

To wake the screen, use one of the following keyboard shortcuts: Windows logo key + P or Ctrl + Alt + Del.

For a black screen, use the following keyboard shortcut: Windows logo key + Ctrl + Shift + B.

For more info, see Troubleshoot black screen or blank screen errors.

If you have a Surface, see Surface won’t turn on or wake from sleep.
