Disable the Annoying Windows 10 Shadows Under Windows

Recommended Posts

While the Windows 10 desktop UI is flatter and simplifies...making it much cleaner, there is one annoyance I have noticed which is the shadow it places around open windows. Here is a screenshot to show you what I am talking about:

ouch! It's really reminiscent of the the shadow Apple places around windows in OS X -- look familiar:

Getting rid of it is simple. Just right-click This PC the go to Properties > Advanced System Settings and click the Settings button under Performance. Then uncheck "Show shadows under Windows" and click OK.

  1. Save as Activation.bat
  2. Locate the it in your file manager.
  3. Right-clickand select Run as administrator.
