Dimmed screen freezes my laptop!!

Recommended Posts

I don't know what started it, (no updates nor newly installed apps) but for the past two weeks, everytime my screen dimmed (either automatically after specified time, or manually through selecting sleep and/or lid closing), the laptop freezes. It can't be used again. Nothing but forcefully turning it off (by long-pressing the power button, since i can't detach the battery) would work. But once it got turned on again, nothing wrong shows up.

I resort to set the screen dim waiting time for the quite longer time, like next to an hour, then never closing the lid again since i fold it like a tablet (it's a convertible). But i genuinely curious, what caused this?
