  1. In Windows 10 (settings - system - notifications & action- show notifications from these apps), how do I remove these apps from this list that have already been uninstalled?
  2. To quote Homer Simpson (well, sort of): "Donuts. Is there anything they (Microsoft) can't do...when it comes to improving the functionality of Windows 10?" On a more profound note, check the link below if you are interested in the security bulletin for this Patch Tuesday from Microsilly - oops, Microsoft! https://technet.microsoft.com/library/security/ms15-aug?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
  3. @patty1995: You might want to check the link below. Although a little confusing, you might be able to see what is being suggested. If you follow through, do set a restore point or export the registry keys mentioned in the article. http://www.thewindowsclub.com/windows-10-update-kb3081424-fails-to-install
  4. My Win 10 Upgrade for my laptop went flawlessly on the 30th July. However my desktop pc keeps giving me this error "Windows 10 Error Code 80240020 | Failed to Update." I have the Windows Wt folder but still no luck with the upgrade for my pc. GWX reports that I have to wait, but each time I check Windows update the above error persists. I've read that one should wait or use the MediaCreation tool to do the upgrade. What's the best way of going about this error without stuffing things up? (GWX also reports that the pc is ready and that no applications conflict - example, printer etc).
  5. What is the Windows~WT folder and can it be deleted? It takes up 5.79 gig in space on my laptop...
  6. @ Julsie... Apart from Brian's explanation you may also wish to check out this link... http://www.howtogeek.com/224342/how-to-clean-install-windows-10/
  7. You might want to check the link provided - I think it will answer the questions you may have about the upgrade and licensing http://www.zdnet.com/article/windows-10-youve-got-questions-ive-got-answers/
  8. Ok - here we go and I hope this doesn't start WW3! I know that Win 10 will come with its own anti-virus (Windows Defender). Can readers (who have tried a different a/v - preferably free) give some feed back on their experience with another anti-virus program with Win 10.

  10. Readers of this site might be interested in a new free tool that allows you to backup your current operating system and then restore it if things don't work out with Win 10 Upgrade. The program is by EaseUs and is called EaseUs System GoBack. One can find the download page at this link http://www.easeus.com/system-go-back/ I've just backed up my laptop's Win 7 o/s and for extra piece of mind created a system image using Windows System Image backup tool as well.
