    Running Edge on Windows 7

Hello. I ahve such an issue. I temporarily have the laptop with windows 7 installed and want to use Microsoft Edge. I've read in this article https://rocketfiles.com/articles/how-to-run-microsoft-edge-browser-on-windows-8-1-and-windows-7 about BrowserStack. Is it good to use? Have someone used it? Maybe you can suggest other methods without installing other plugins and soft.

  8. Hey im unsure if this is the right place to put this but im just out of ideas and the internet is netting me 0 fixes, ive tried everything to fix the issue that i can find from google but the windows store will instantaneously crash as soon as i click to open it, maybe it opens for a second at most, The most common fix seems to be using wsreset however the window does not auto close and comes up with the text box that i have attached. Ive tried every support page recommendation and im out of ideas. any help will be much appreciated.

Photo that comes with Windows 10

Find Windows Photos Default App Settings and change settings so that it would request the storage source each time. In this way, you can set a folder where specific photos can be stored.
  12. Hello This issue occurred In Internet explorer 11 after the RS5(REDSTONE 5 / OS version 1809 / xx.xxx.17763.x ) update. I would like to know more about this issue. The following Javascript works when RS4(IE11) or lower, But does not work from RS5(IE11). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (This is similar to pseudo code.) window.onbeforeunload = X(); function X() { /// to-do ..... save(); // save logic when this pop-up window beforeunload. // not work from RS5(it works when RS4 or lower version) alert('are u sure ?'); <<<<< // this alert does not work from RS5(it works when RS4 or lower version) .... return; } ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So I changed the JavaScript as follows. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (This is similar to pseudo code.) window.addEventListener("beforeunload", X); function X(e){ e.returnValue = 'are u sure?'; // work in All of IE version //to-do save(); // work in All of IE version console.log('are u sure?'); // work in All of IE version alert('are u sure?'); // work in RS4 or lower version but it still does not work in RS5 } ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As a result, JavaScript works except alert. I want to know that whether this is the best method and whether there is an official document on this situation. If you know this situation, please reply. Thank you.

Photo that comes with Windows 10

Under prior version of Windows Photos were stored in folders. I have 4500 + pictures on my PC. When I open the Photo application I have to go through all my pictures to get to the one I want. Can anyone explain how to change the Photo application settings to store my pictures in folders? By the way if I am in FB and say I want to add a photo then all pics come up in the dated folders. I just don't get it. Thanks for any assistance.

    Settings control

My screen has gone dim and I cannot brighten it. The brightness control in settings does not work. Any ideas anyone? Does this require a fix from MS?
  20. I love the idea of having the same reading lists and Favorites on my PC and Android phone but Microsoft Edge has never done that for me. Most recently I cleared all Edge data from my Android 8 phone in hopes the same Edge Reading and Favorites would sync. A few hours later my reading lists and Favorites returned but they don't mirror my PC
  21. My grandson has a PC running Windows 10 and was running out of hard drive space. I purchased a 1 TB HDD and installed it in his PC. That shows properly in both device manager and disk manager as a 1 TB NTFS Drive (left it as a single partition). However, the HDD that was installed in the PC originally is a 3 TB HDD. it shows up in device manager as an Intel Raid array. Disk manager shows it has been configured with 4 partitions with all four of them being healthy: a 256 MB partition, a 447 GB partition (boot drive and OS), a 440 MB partition, and a 446 Gb partition (extra drive). It does not show any more additional usable space and will not let me expand any of the partitions. Is there any way to gain access to the other 2 TB on the HDD?

  23. A friend of mine tried to change my windows 7 into an windows 10, he tried to install it but after some time the screen turned black and i can see only the volume button and 'ease of access'. I don't know what to do and i want my laptop to restart, even if it has windows 7 or 10. Help me
  24. I've tried scannow and dism, tried "repair upgrade", then repeated. I also checked ALL values of "ShowStatusBar" in the registry - all are set to "1". I uninstalled and reinstalled the display driver. NOTE: The file explorer status bar displays properly in the built-in administrator account, so this is an oddity of my primary account.

    Please help me remove BING!

Bing has set itself as my default search engine. When I open a new tab, there it is. Moreover, it's recently disabled the ability for me to type directly into the web search bar at the top, thereby forcing me to use the Bing search bar. I hate Bing! I've tried uninstalling Bing but there's not software installed, as such. And I've changed all of the Edge settings, asked it to use Google as the default, but nothing works. It wont even allow me to delete Bing as one of the options for online search. The way that Bing worms its way onto your system and forces you to use it is a disgrace. Anyone's help would be much appreciated..

  28. These details may be useful, I’ll try to specify every little detail about the issue that I can remember: Summary of my laptop’s specs: ASUS TUF FX505GE, i7–8750, GTX 1050Ti 4GB, 8GB RAM, SSD+HDD, Windows 10 Home Edition SL The laptop is still relatively new, just bought around 1 month ago but the issue started since around last week. At first, there was no issue at all. The lagging issue occurred whenever I unplugged my laptop from the charger, 1–2 seconds after Windows automatically switch the power plan to Power Saver mode. Suddenly, the cursor apparently disappears. When I tried to move the the mouse/trackpad to get the cursor to the bottom of the screen to show the taskbar (I hide the taskbar), I notice from the taskbar opening animation that the OS is lagging very, very bad. I also confirmed that it is lagging when I hit the Windows button and saw that the start menu opens up very slow and jagged. Related to the above, I’ve tried to fiddle with the Power Saver plan and the overall power management settings in Windows to no avail. Also have tried to reset the power plan settings to default. Still related to the above, I tried to stop Windows from switching automatically to Power Saver plan when unplugging the charger but I can’t find any helpful article in the internet. Plugging the laptop in to the power socket after the lagging appears does not solve the issue. When it is lagging, the only thing I could do is to fire up Ctrl+Alt+Del and restart, with the charger plugged in since booting up. During the Ctrl+Alt+Del screen (I don’t know the proper name for it, it’s the menu that is displayed after you hit the three keys that shows the option of Task Manager, restart, shut down, etc), I noticed that the cursor is there and I can move it smoothly without any lagging issues If I log out, the lagging issue is gone in the login screen. However, after signing in to my account again, the lagging issue comes back even after I plugged the laptop in. I have all the latest updates from the Windows Update, and also made sure that all the drivers are up-to-date. While researching for this issue, I found that the laptop battery status says “plugged in, not charging”. I managed to solve this issue after searching through the web but the main lagging issue still persists. Because I very rarely travel with my laptop, most of the time I left the laptop at my desk. However, I always plugged it in to the power socket even when the battery is already full (looks like this is the cause of the “plugged in, not charging” issue above). I have also uninstalled the Windows-related softwares that came with the laptop from ASUS, but still have the issue. I haven’t ruled out the possibility of any hardware-related cause because I haven’t tried the reset Windows option, but somehow all things are pointing out to software/OS-related issue. This issue seems to be very specific and I couldn’t find any topic about this issue in the internet. It’s very annoying when I have to use my laptop while traveling. Any help or insight is very much appreciated. Thank you.
